About Canton, GA - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Canton is a city situated in Cherokee County, Georgia. As of 2010, the city had a population of about 23,000 people. Canton currently serves as the county seat of Cherokee County.

Original inhabitants of the area Canton is located in were Native American Indians of the Cherokee tribe. After the Native American people were driven away, European settlers established a new county and chose Canton to serve as the county seat in 1833. Canton grew steadily and throughout the Civil War suffered much harm at the hands of Union Troops. Although the city was burnt and destroyed during that period of time it was rebuilt and has prospered since.

Individuals visiting Canton will discover there are several things to see and do in the beautiful city. Taking a stroll through Downtown Canton is a wonderful way to learn about the city’s rich history. Located in this area of the city is the Cherokee County History Museum and Cherokee County Arts Center. These are home to an array of historical artifacts and fine art. Several coffee shops and restaurants are located in Downtown Canton as well. After exploring the city, individuals should take advantage of Canton’s close proximity to the beginning of the Appalachian Trail for some outdoor recreation.

Canton experiences weather that is unique with each changing season. Temperatures throughout the summer season range from the low to mid-80s on average but it is not uncommon for temperatures to climb up the 90s. Precipitation is very common throughout the summer season, so the combination of warm temperatures and rainfall create a climate that is usually very warm and humid. Central air conditioning units that are properly installed will help keep residents cool during the summer. After installation, residents should hire professional HVAC technicians to regularly inspect these systems and perform maintenance if necessary. This practice will help keep them operating as efficiently as possible.
